About the Author
My name is Robert Levasseur and I have created this site for car enthusiasts, especially Porsche 911 fans.
I was born in Montreal, Canada in 1954 and have appreciated high performance and sports cars my whole life. I graduated from McGill University in 1976 with a degree in English Literature and Communications after which I began a career on the technical side of Human Resources Management. After a twenty-two year career in management I shifted my focus to consulting where I advised clients on matters pertaining to Executive Compensation. In retirement I continue to consult on a part time basis, teach a graduate-level university course and deliver expert opinions for legal cases where my expertise can be helpful to the proceedings.
I have always enjoyed writing and have often been told I have opinions on everything. These opinions extend to my hobbies, one of which is the world of sports cars. My wife and I have owned many vehicles over the years and have enjoyed them all. Purchasing our Porsche 911 Carrera T, photographed above being prepared for a protective coating in December 2023, has inspired me to put pen to paper and share my thoughts on the often intense experiences associated with joining this unique community.
My wife Lydia, also a car enthusiast, to whom I have been married for 48 years has had a distinguished career as a writer and editor. Along with all the other ways she has been a loving support over the years, she generously edits the content of this blog.
We live on a farm, occupied by a dog, a Canadian Horse, a very hairy pony and a Sicilian Miniature Donkey. Our dog serves as Head of Operations, the pony handles security and our donkey displays his considerable talents as Chief Strategic Officer. The two humans at their service follow to the best of their abilities the constant directives from this leadership team.
I hope you will enjoy reading these articles and essays based on my love of driving interesting cars. I am not an automotive engineer or technician, nor have I driven every type of car, but I do consider myself an life-long enthusiast with a lot to say.
